Workshop on Becoming a Researcher

Aims of the workshop
In this workshop, Prof. Mathews will share the best concrete advice she knows for becoming a researcher. We will talk about how to pick a research topic, find avenues to follow, find and master related work and how to build on successful work in your field. We will talk about how to find concrete activities to do when you are stuck and how to tame the angst that is inevitably part of the research process. This talk is great for graduate students and for faculty advising graduate students, but researchers of all kinds may find helpful tidbits to make their process more effective and productive. Workshop – 002: Postgraduate Colloquium
